Lifecycle of a Revocable Trust​

 

There are several phases to the existence of a revocable trust, and different considerations that apply at each phase, from creation and funding, administration during the settlor’s life and following the settlor’s death, and concluding with distribution and termination. This presentation will highlight considerations at each phase of the lifecycle of a revocable trust, including transfer of assets, trustee duties, creditor rights, tax implications and practical considerations.  

 

Presenter: 

Jennifer M. Spitz practices law in Longmont, Colorado with the law firm of Lyons Gaddis, P.C. Jennifer primarily practices in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration. She has a particular interest in tax planning and planning with retirement assets. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Law. She is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America® and Colorado Super Lawyers. Jennifer has been active in the Trust and Estate Section of the Colorado Bar Association for many years, including previously serving as the Section’s Chair. She has also been a member of the Boulder County Estate Planning Council for approximately 25 years.

 


 

Check-in and networking will start at 11:15 a.m., with the buffet open for lunch by 11:30. The business meeting will commence at 11:45, just before the 12:00 start time for the speaker.
