DESCRIPTION:\nPlease join BCEPC for our next seminar, The Economy in 2022: Looking Forward and Reflecting on the Past, presented by Dr. Richard Wobbekind.  \n \nTopic: An economic forecast for the national and state economy focusing on output and employment.  A discussion of current fiscal and monetary policy.  A look at how Colorado has fared with respect to the nation.\n \nLocation & Time:  The event will be held in-person at the Elevations Credit Union at 2960 Diagonal Hwy, Boulder.  The seminar will begin at 11:50am and end at 1:00pm. \n \nThis seminar is open to guests, so please invite a colleague or client to join you.  You can add your guest when you register.\n \nMasks: On February 15, 2022, the Boulder County Board of Health voted to end their indoor mask requirement for public spaces and schools effective at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 18. Accordingly, we are updating our protocols. At our seminars, masks will now be optional and members are welcome to wear them if they choose to do so.\n \nPresenters Biography\n \nRichard L. Wobbekind is Associate Dean for Business & Government Relations, Senior Economist and Faculty Director of the Business Research Division and at the University of Colorado Boulder. He joined the faculty at the Leeds School of Business in 1985, and has served as an Associate Dean since 2000.\n \nAs Faculty Director of the Business Research Division his responsibilities include developing an annual consensus forecast of the Colorado economy and performing various economic impact assessments of the Colorado economy. Wobbekind also produces the quarterly Leeds Business Confidence Index for Colorado.\n \nRich is the past president of the National Association for Business Economics. He participates annually in the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank Regional Economic Roundtable, and is a contributor to the Western Blue Chip forecast newsletter and the National Association of Business Economists Economic Outlook and Policy Surveys.\n \nRich is a member of the Governor’s Revenue Estimating Advisory Committee and the Boulder Economic Council. He is an advisory board member for the Western Regional Science Association.\n \nWobbekind teaches MBA students in macroeconomics, public policy, and managerial economics. He has received three awards for teaching excellence from the students of the Leeds School. Wobbekind has lived in Colorado for more than 44 years and has spent much of his time studying the development of the Colorado and regional economies.
